- Latar belakang penelitian ini di awali oleh hasil data pengamatan studi awal yang menunjukkan kondisi kemampuan kognitif anak TK Al-Falah dalam mengenal konsep bilangan masih rendah. Hal ini terbukti masih banyak anak kesulitan dalam memahami dan melaksanakan materi dalam proses pembelajaran menunjuk/menyebut bilangan, membilang dengan menunjuk benda dan menghubungkan bilangan dengan benda. Berdasarkan masalah yang ada maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal konsep bilangan melalui bermain balok cuissenaire.Penelitian ini mengunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang di rancang dalam bentuk siklus berulang. Di setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok A2 TK Al-Falah yang berjumlah 20 anak, yang terdiri dari 9 anak laki-laki dan 11 anak perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data mengunakan observasi sedangkan analisis datanya menggunakan statistik deskriptif.Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal konsep bilangan pada siklus 1 pertemuan 1 diperoleh data 52.1%, pada pertemuan 2 diperoleh data 60.4 %. Hal ini menunjukan penelitian tindakan kelas ini belum berhasil oleh karena target yang di tentukan adalah ≥ 75%, maka penelitian ini berlanjut pada siklus 2. Pada siklus 2 pertemuan 1 diperoleh 72.9% dan pada pertemuan 2 mencapai 82.1%. Berdasarkan analisis data pada siklus 2 maka target yang diharapkan tercapai dan penelitian ini dinyatakan berhasil. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa bermain balok cuissenaire dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal konsep bilangan pada kelompok A di TK Al-Falah Surabaya.Kata kunci : konsep bilangan, bermain, balok cuissenaire.ABSTRACTThe background at the start of this study by the results of initial studies of observational data that show the condition of the child's cognitive abilities TK Al-Falah in the concept of number is still low. Based on the existing problems, the purpose of this research is to improve the cognitive ability of children to recognize the concept of numbers through play beam cuissenaire.This study uses action research is designed in the form of a repeating cycle. In each cycle consists of four phases: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The study subjects were children in group A2 TK Al - Falah totaling 20 children, which consisted of 9 boys and 11 girls. Data collection techniques using observation, while the statistical data analysis descriptive.The results of the data analysis results learn about the concept of numbers in cycle 1 meeting 1 Data obtained 52.1%, in the second meeting of the data obtained from the data of 60.4%. This case study shows the class action is successful because the specified target is > 75%, the study continues in cycle 2. Meeting on 2 cycle 1 was obtained 72.9%, and at the meeting of 2 reached 82.1%. Data analysis based on cycle 2 the target is reached and the study declared successful.
