Daftar Isi:
- The aim of this research is to know the effect of fiber length and volume fraction on tensile properties of composite widuri polyester. The widuri fiber which using in this research is blossom widuri fiber (3 months old) then been treated by NaOH during 2 hour with the long fiber 3 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm. The volume fractions have been used are 20%, 30% and 40 % with the randomly direction. Specimens pull established in accordance with the standard of ASTM D638. The effect of length fiber against the character of pull, tensile strength of 16,78 MPa highest obtained at length fiber 7 mm with volume fraction 30%. The result of this research show that the highest of tensile strength is obtained 30% of the volume fraction with the length fiber 7 mm which amount 16,78 MPa and the lowest of volume fraction is 20% with the length fiber 3 mm which amount 12,41 MPa. The highest of tensile strain is obtained 40% of the volume fraction with the length fiber 7 mm which amount 0,036% and the lowest of volume fraction is 20% with the length fiber 3 mm which amount 0,017%.
