- Today’s clothes is a form of identity from which a body is possibly publled, identified, interpreted, even domesticated. In the case of Islam, the clothes plays significant role since it is a sign of Islamic identity. This phenomenon, such as jilbab or jilboobs, has a main discourse in Islamic studies. The purpose of this study Sociologically tried to describe the use of the hijab being used more as a fashion rather than syariah complement or mostly known as “wearing hijab without syariah.” These observations were made in Jogjakarta. The results showed that Jilbab, or its identity, is used as comodification from which one could sell, buy or use it beyond what syariah has grounded the rule.
