- The character of mathematics object is abstract. Many junior highstudents have concentrate think. So it is needed solution that can be the mediationto decrease misconception one of the exact mediation is learning media. The useof learning media enable student to be active in learning process. The use ofcolour paper as learning media to visualize venn diagram and compilation1concept in Mathematics problem solving to increase students achievement onsecond semester Academic Year 2010/2011. The kind of this research is actionresearch by cycle procedure. There are three cycles with twice meeting in everycycle. The subject of this research are 23 students. They are students of class 7BSMP N 3 Banjarnegara. Data obtain through observation to teacher and studentsactivity interview and test result. Data analysis was perfomed with descriptivestatistics. Analysis result and discussion showed that. The use of colour paper aslearning media to visualize venn diagram and compilation concept to solvemathemathics problem. In fact it is able to: (1) increase students achievement (2)increase students activity in learning process. Increase student test result from thebeginning study to cycle I was 5,56% and from cycle I to cycle II was 9,26%.Increase the student learning activity rose average of 26,33% include a) studypreparation b) activity invalued c) discussion d) doing team work e) answeringthe questions f) writing import thing g) irrelevant behaviour while the behaviourof students who are not relevant when learning has decreased by 17,39%Kata Kunci : visualisasi, pemecahan masalah, hasil belajar, diagram venn
