- AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa kelas X di SMAN 22 Surabaya. Sedangkan teori yang dipakai adalah teori konstruktivistik dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi dari kegiatan guru dan siswa dan juga menggunakan tes untuk menguji kemampuan berfikir siswa. Penelitian ini memakai pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata aktivitas guru kelas kontrol sebesar 74.99, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 84.37. Hasil belajar siswa pada kelas kontrol menunjukkan tidak terdapat hasil signifikan karena kurang dari 0,005. Sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajara Problem Based Learning mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 22 Surabaya.Kata Kunci : Pengaruh, Problem Based Learning, Kemampuan berpikir kritisAbstractThe purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the problem-based learning to improving critical thinking skills class X at SMAN 22 Surabaya. Meanwhile, the threory used in this research was contrustivism with observation collection technique from the teacher and students and also used a test to test their thinking abilty. Data collection techniques in this study were taking observations of the activities of the teachers and students and also using the test to test the students’ ability to think. The results showed that the average of the teacher’s activity in control group was 74.99, while the experimental group was 84.37. Student learning outcomes in the control group showed no significant result because it was less than 0.0005. Meanwhile, the experimental group showed significant results. This it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model can improve students’ critical thinking skill in class X at SMAN 22 Surabaya.Keywords: Influence, problem-based learning, critical thinking ability
