- Carburizing is a thermochemical heat treatment process by difusing carbon inside to steel, to produce high surface hardness, high wear resistance and high impact strength of steel.Type of carburizing process is pack,liquid and gas. Gas carburizing by fluidized bed furnace have specially quality in industry application is that same level of surface hardening and there is no decarburizing. This research aims to analyse effect of gas carburizing process for SNCM 220H toward surface hardening, hardening distribution, thick of layer, wear resistance and microstructure.Collecting data by measuring technic, while measuring instrument by Rockwell Hardness, Vickers Hardness Tester and Pin On Disk Tribometer. The experimental results after process surface hardening show that surface hardening is 59,6 HRc, thick of layer is 600 μm, lower volume of abrasive and martemper microstructure. Kata kunci : gas carburizing, dapur fluidized bed, kekerasan permukaan
