- Information will be easily to accessespecially from internet that has increased thenumber of various of digital information. It hasincreased need of user about information retrievaltools, which it can describe the most relevantdocument based on user question. Informationretrieval can support in managing and finding information effectively and efficiently. It designedto handle searching based on keyword from user.This implemented query expansion technique andterm weighting method with combination of TFIDF(term frequency-inverse document frequency).Query expansion is a method that increases theterm in query for improving search performance.Term weighting based on combination of TF-IDFgives more weight for more impotant term. In thissystem, searching query add based on synonim ofsearching keywords that the result is not onlydocument which have keywords, but also documentassociated with searching keyword based onthesaurus and root word. This system can find all ofrelevant document from available collection.Searching result sort based on document weighttoward to keywords that depict the similarity ofdocument with user question that it can befacilitating user to find information properly
