- Background: Malaria becomes health problem in Pekalongan district, especially in the malaria endemicsubdistricts, including Kandangserang subdistrict,? which area is hared to reach and it influences the attemptto eradicate? malaria, especially through vector controlling. The study was carried out to investigate the efficacyof the use of mosquito coil containing 0.2% d-Allethrin and the effectiveness in controlling the malaria vectorat Gembong village of Kandangserang subdistrict of Pekalongan regency.Design and Methods: This study was quasi experiment with control time series design. Respondents weredivided into 3 treatments groups of mosquito coil Containing 0,2% d-Allethrin, control and placebo, with 50respondents for each group the in-field test is conducted by paying special attention to Anopheles aconitusmosquito, which is the malaria vector in the village simultaneously with the effectiveness test of the uses ofthe repellent considering the criteria of rational, effective, efficient, sustainable, acceptable and affordable(REESAA). The data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis test.Results: The mosquito bite and the mosquito density were reduced as 77.15%, 88%, 17%, 11.4%, 40%, 30% foreach treatment group, the control and the placebo using the mosquito coil respectively. The effectiveness ofREESAA criteria, has significant value (p < 0.005).Conclusions: The mosquito coil containing 0.2% d-Allethrin was effective for controlling malaria vector atGembong village of Kandangserang subdistrict of Pekalongan regency, (Sains Medika, 1 (1) : 44-52).Pendahuluan: Malaria merupakan masalah kesehatan di Kabupaten Pekalongan, terutama di 7 kecamatanendemis malaria, termasuk di Kecamatan Kandangserang, yang wilayahnya sangat sulit dijangkau, sehinggamempengaruhi kelancaran dari upaya?upaya pemberantasan Malaria terutama melalui pengendalianvektornya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk uji efikasi obat nyamuk bakar dengan d-allethrin 0,2% terhadapvektor malaria di Desa Gembong, Kecamatan Kandangserang, Kabupaten Pekalongan.Metode Penelitian: Pada penelitian quasi experiment dengan control time series design ini, responden dibagimenjadi 3 kelompok (penggunaan obat nyamuk bakar dengan 0,2% d-Allethrin, kontrol, dan plasebo) yangmasing-masing kelompok terdiri atas 50 orang responden. Uji dilakukan terhadap nyamuk Anopheles aconitusyang merupakan vektor utama di desa tersebut. Data efektifitas penggunaan ONB yang terkait dengan kriteriaRational, Effective, Efficient, Sustainable, Acceptable and Affordable (REESAA) dikumpulkan dengan metodekuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis.Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan gigitan nyamuk dan penurunan densiti nyamukpada kelompok perlakuan, kontrol, dan plasebo yaitu berturut-turut 77,15%; 88%; 17%;? 11,4%; 40%; dan30%. Kriteria efektifitas REESA menunjukkan nilai yang signifikan (p < 0.005).Kesimpulan: Penggunaan obat nyamuk bakar dengan 0,2% d-Allethrin efektif untuk mengontrol? vektor Malariadi desa Gembong, Kecamatan Kandangserang, Kabupaten Pekalongan, (Sains Medika, 1 (1) : 44-52).Kata kunci: anopheles aconitus, d-Allethrin, obat nyamuk bakar, malaria, REESAA
