- ABSTRACTMeatball skewers is a kind of snack foods made from flour and meat are formed round. However, it should be wary of the food safety meatball skewers, because it is usually sold in the open state. The risk of transmission of infection through food animal products is also associated with contaminated meat. The purpose of this study to check bacterium Escherichia coli to snacks meatball skewers in the traditional market town of Palembang. The research was conducted in September 2015 using a meatball skewers 5 samples taken from five traditional markets in the city of Palembang. This study was an observational descriptive study. Examination of the content of Escherichia coli bacteria using a three-stage test is test estimation, confirmed test, and completed test using the Most Probable Number (MPN) with three series of tubes. of 5 samples examined meatball skewers which were all negative Escherichia coli.
