- ABSTRAK Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh phonics method terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan pada kelompok B TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kertonatan tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini merupakan quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 32 anak dan sampel berjumlah 16 anak. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling sistematis. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Validitas instrumen menggunakan construct validity dan product moment pearson correlation. Reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan alpha cronbach’s. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat dan uji t yang diolah menggunakan SPSS. 15 for windows. Berdasarkan hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan membaca permulaan kelompok eksperimen pada saat sebelum perlakuan adalah 21,69 dan pada setelah perlakuan adalah 24,13 dengan signifikansi 0,002 < 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Phonics Method berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak kelompok B TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kertonatan tahun ajaran 2015/2016. .Kata Kunci: Phonics Method, kemampuan membaca permulaan, pendidikan anak usia dini.ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of the Phonics Method model toward early reading skill in the B group of TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kertonatan in 2015/2016 year. This research is quasi experiment by using nonequivalent control group design. The Population of this research is 32 students and the sample of this research is 16 students. Technique collecting sample used in this research is systematis sampling. The data were collected by using test, interview, observation, and documentation. Instrument validity used is construct validity and Product Moment Pearson Correlation. Instrument reliability used is Alpha Cronbach’s. The data were analyzed by using prerequisite test and t test and processed by SPSS. 15 for windows. Based on the analysis show that there is a that the average value of early reading skill on experiment group is 21,69 in pretest and 24,13 in posttest with significant effect 0,002 < 0,05. So, Phonics Method significant effect toward early reading skill of group B TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kertonatan in 2015/2016.Keyword: Phonics method, early reading skill, early childhood education
