- ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penerapan social stories terhadap perilaku empati anak usia 5-6 tahun. Jenis penelitian berupa quasi experimental dengan desain non equivalent control design. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Januari sampai Mei 2016. Sampel penelitian 26 anak TKIP Ummahat Simo, Boyolali. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi berbasis perilaku dan dokumentasi, sedangkan alat pengukuran data menggunakan checklist. Validitas instrumen menggunakan professional judgment. Analisis data terdiri atas uji prasyarat dan uji hipotesis. Uji prasyarat dalam analisis data terdiri atas uji normalitas dan homogenitas, sedangkan uji hipotesis menggunakan independent samples t-test. Hasil uji prasyarat menunjukkan data normal dan homogen. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan perbedaan nilai rata-rata postest kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol yaitu 8,35 dan 6,77 dengan nilai signifikasi 0,003<0,05. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh penggunaan social stories terhadap perilaku empati anak usia 5-6 tahun. Kata kunci: anak usia 5-6 tahun, perilaku empati, social stories.ABSTRACT The aim of the research is to find the effect of social stoories on children’s empathy behaviour aged 5-6 years. This research is quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control design. The research was conducted in January until May 2016. The research samples were 26 childrens on TKIP Ummahat Simo, Boyolali. The data collection method using behavior-based observation and documentation, while the data using a measurement tool checklist. The validity of the instrument using professional judgment. The data analysis consists of prerequisite test and hypotheses test. Test prerequisites in the data analysis consists of normality and homogeneity test, whereas hypothesis test using independent samples t-test. The result of prerequisite test showed normal data and homogeneous. The result of hypothesis test showed the difference average score between experimental and control groups posttest, 8.35 and 6.77 with a significance number 0,003<0,05. The conclusion showed there are significant effect of using social stories on children’s empathy behavior aged 5-6 years.Keywords: children aged 5-6 years, empathy behavior, social stories.
