- Background : the raising awareness of the importance of the learning media development in this present time must be able to be realized in practice. Beside understanding its use, the teacher have to try to develop self making skill of media that is interesting, affordable, and efficient, with no reluctance toward the use of modern tool which is suitable with the demand of science and technology development. The teachers must be able to choose precise and attractive media during their learning. The demand of globalization era with its information technology development can be exploited for the development of history teaching based on macromedia flash for improving student’s nationalism.Method : the method of research used is Research & Development (R&D) method adapted and modified by Borg & Gall.. Procedure, working steps of the research covers: 1) preliminary study, 2) media development, 3) the implementation of media use, and 4) the effectiveness test of the product. The preliminary study covers library study and field survey. The process of media development involves one material expert (history teacher) and one media expert. Then, the trial is done involving 35 students consisting of : 3 students for one-on-one trial, 9 students for small group trial, and 35 students for field trial. The implementation of media use resulted from development is done withPTK. The effectiveness test of the product is done by using experimental method. Warga High School is chosen as experimental group and SMA N 2 Surakarta is chosen as control group.Result : Based on the analysis of the effectiveness test of the product, the result of experimental class’ post test (using development media) is higher compared to those of control class (using power point). The statement is proved based on the analysis of t test. From the t test result, it is derived that tobs 2,1> 1,96 = ttable. Then it is concluded that H0 test is rejected and that means both group has different nationalism behavior. Conclusion: there is a difference of the result of behavior scale test in post test of the experimental class and control class, proving that the history learning media product by using Macromedia Flash based Interactive CD developed is effective in improving nationalism behavior.
