- The aims of this research is to produce a guidance packet about life skill counseling to improve the skill of career decision making for physical disability children.The research and development has been done by adapting the research and development concept from Thiagarajan and Borg and Cell. This research and development begin from the problem on the preface, planning and constructing the early product, test of validity, test of practicability, constructing the last product and test of the effectiveness of the product. The subject of the product test is two experts on guidance and counseling, education of special need’s pupil and 3 teachers of guidance and counseling and a teacher of physical disability subject. The subject of the effectiveness test is 5 physical disability students grade VIII and IX in SLB-D YPAC Surakarta. The data collected to measure the appropriateness of the products used scoring form for validity test and practicability test. Technique of collecting the data to measure the effectiveness of the product used the questionnaire of career decision making skill for physical disability children. The data analyzed by using SPSS 17.0. The result of the expert judgments for the packet of guidance about the life skill counseling to improve the career decision making skill for physical disability children is 80,5 % from the first assessor and 73,2 % from the second assessor. So that the average score is 76,8 %. For The practicability test, the first assessor gave 78,5% and the second assessor gave 91,8%, the third assessor gave 77,2%. The average score is 82,5%. Test of the product effectiveness shows the result thitung =10,674 and ttabel= 2,132 on significance degree 0,05, so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be recognized that there is a significant difference between before and after the treatment about the career decision making skill is given. The conclusion of this study is that the packet of career decision making skill based on life skill counseling has been produced to improve the career decision making skill for physical disability children. The packet has fulfilled all the appropriateness criterion according to the test of validity and test of practicability and it is proven effectively improving the career decision making skill for physical disability children.
