  • The objective of research is to find out the effectiveness of Group counseling with discussion technique to reduce infringement of school rules of eleven grade students in SMA 8 Surakarta year of 2013/2014.The research was a Quasi Experimental Design with Non Equivalent Control Design. The sampling technique was purposive random sampling technique. The samples in this study were students of SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta grade eleven. Technique of collecting data used was questionnaire. The data analysis was conducted using Two Ways ANOVA by utilizing SPSS 16.Based on the testing result of sub- hypothesis I the value of F count is 18,489 > Ftabel 3,92 then Ho rejected and Ha is accepted, it means that there is a difference in the value of infringement of school rules before and after the treatment given in the experimental group and the control group. Based on the testing result of sub- hypothesis II the value of F count is 13,174 > Ftabel 3,92 so there is a difference in the value of infringement of school rules given in the experimental group and the control group. The testing result of sub hypothesis III the value Fcount = 10,480 > Ftable = 3,92 which means there is an interaction between the of infringement of school rules before and after the given treatment in the experimental group and the control group.Conclusion of this study is group counseling with discussion technique effectively reduce infringement of school rules of eleven grade students in SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta School Year of 2013/2014.
