- The objectives of this research are to generate social guidance materialoriginating from Aṣṭabrata as to improve leadership ability of student organizationmanagement of Senior Secondary Schools in the form of guidance module and to testthe effectiveness of the module.This Research and Development adapted the R&D concept claimed by Borg andGall. A series of research and development activities included preliminary study,development plan arrangement, initial product development, expert judgment, initialproduct improvement to generate , expert judgment, improvement of Product I togenerate Product II, limited field test to the management of student organizationmanagement, generating final product, and final product effectiveness test. The subjectsof the research were experts of Guidance and Counseling, teachers of Guidance andCounseling of SMAN 1 Baturetno, and student organization management of SMAN 1Baturetno. The data of the research were those to measure the product feasibility andeffectiveness.They were gathered through in-depth interview, scoring sheet, andquestionnaire. The scoring sheet was validated through expert judgment. The data wereanalyzed by using the percentage of product feasibility level through the application offour intervals. The product effectiveness test used one group pretest-posttest designmethod. This method was used to investigate the changes in the subjects of the researchprior to and following the treatment. The result of the pretest and posttest was analyzedby using the paired sample t test.The results of the research are as follows: The average score is 74.64% so thatthe initial product is expressed good and adequately feasible to be used. The averagescore of the expert judgment test for Product I is 83.33% indicating that it is very goodand feasible to be used, and that of the limited field test for Product II is 83%, signifyingthat it is also very good and feasible to be used. The value of tcount of pretest-posttest is9.602, and that of ttable of pretest-posttest is 1.699. Based on the hypothesis verification,there is a difference of leadership ability of the student organization management priorto and following the treatment as indicated by the value of tcount > that of ttable (0.000, atthe significance level < 0.05)Based on the results of the research, conclusions are drawn as follows: (1) theproduct of the research, namely: social guidance material has fulfilled the productfeasibility requirements and has been feasible to be used, and (2) the effectiveness testshows that the social guidance material originating from Aṣṭabrata is effective toimprove the leadership ability of student organization management.
