- The aim of the research were to know the effectiveness sociodrama techniqueto improve interpersonal communication ability of the seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Poncol in the Academic Year 2012/2013.This research was an experimental research which used Treatment by SubjectDesign. The subject of the research was the seventh grade students of SMP N 1Poncol which consist 32 students. The source of the data was premier data thestudents, the Technique of collecting data was interpersonal communicationquestionnaire. The analyzing of the data used statistical analysis technique using Ttestby using SPSS 16.0 application.The result of hypotheses test used Paired-Sample T-test. It showed the meanscore of experimental subject’s questionnaire was increased 25,549 point. It wasobtained from the mean score of post test – the mean score of post-test (100, 44 –74,84). Based on analysis computation by using paired sample T test, it was obtainedt count = 26, 70 and t table = 1,695, so t count > t table (26, 70 > 1,695). Based on theresult of the calculation above, the data was significant. It means there weredifferences between the mean score of interpersonal communication questionnairebefore treatment and the mean score after treatment.Based on the research, it can be concluded that sociodrama technique iseffective to improve interpersonal communication ability of the seventh gradestudents of SMP N 1 Poncol in the academic year 2012/2013.
