  • The purpose of this research is to: (1) find out profile data of students’ career selection ability before intervention; (2) produce career information discussion matters for improving student’s career selection ability; (3) know the eligibility of career information discussion matters to improve students' career selection ability. Eligibility level is related to: (a) look for career information discussion matters, (b) the content of a career information discussion matters, (c) ease of use for career information discussion matters, and (d) the use of language in a career information discussion matters; and (4) examine the effectivity of career information discussion matters for improving students’ career selection ability.The method in this research is Research and Development (R & D). The subject in this research is 25 students. Characterizing students with low score of career selection ability. Data collection technique in this research is questionnaire form scale. The experimental design of this research is one group pre-test post-test design. Analysis technique of this research is descriptive statistic analysis to obtain profile data of student career selection ability before intervention and wilcoxon signed ranks test. This research is carried out from scale completion by the students to obtain profile data of student career selection ability before intervention. The next is career information discussion intervention in the form of career information discussion module that has been examined by the expert. After that, subjects do the scale (post-test) for testing career information discussion matters effectivity to improve students’ career selection ability. Based on the pre-test result, the value of mean is (113.36), deviation standard is (10.004), and variance is (100.073). And then compared to the result after intervention (post-test), mean is (131.36), deviation standard is (9.983), and variance (99.657) with the increasing in percentage of mean 15.88 %. The result can be concluded that there is improvement in student career selection ability. It is proven by the result of wilcoxon signed ranks test statistic analysis, the value of Z count -4,146 with the probability (p) 0.000 (α < 0.01) which is very significant.Keyword: Development of career information matters, career selection ability.
