PERILAKU CARING PERAWAT DI RUANG ISOLASI COVID-19 RSUP SANGLAH DENPASAR: SEBUAH STUDI MIXED METHODS

  • Caring adalah inti dari profesi keperawatan yang dibutuhkan dalam pelayanan keperawatan. Penerapan nilai-nilai caring dalam pelayanan keperawatan menjadi tantangan tersendiri di saat terjadinya pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan gambaran perilaku caring perawat, hubungan faktor individu perawat dengan perilaku caring dan mengeksplorasi secara mendalam mengenai implementasi caring di Ruang Isolasi COVID-19. Penelitian menggunakan desain sequential explanatory mixed methods dimana penelitian kuantitatif dilakukan menggunakan instrumen kuesioner kepada subjek penelitian yang dipilih menggunakan total sampling. Sementara itu, penelitian kualitatif dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap 6 partisipan yang dipilih dari masing-masing 2 orang dari perawat dengan perilaku caring kurang baik dan baik ditambah 2 orang penanggung jawab ruang dari ruang dengan nilai caring baik tertinggi dan ruang dengan perilaku caring baik terendah. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa tingkat caring perawat diketahui baik yakni 93 orang (80,2%). Hasil uji chi square test menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara ruangan bekerja atau tempat bertugas terhadap perilaku caring perawat (p=0,033, ?<0,05). Akan tetapi, tidak terdapat hubungan antara usia (p=0,539), jenis kelamin (p=0,931), tingkat pendidikan (p=0,474), lama bekerja di RSUP Sanglah Denpasar (p=0,430), lama bekerja di ruangan isolasi COVID-19 (p=0,456), dan pelatihan isolasi dan infeksi (p=0,083) terhadap perilaku caring perawat. Hasil wawancara mengenai implementasi caring perawat mendapatkan beberapa tema yang berhasil diidentifikasi seperti pengalaman, perasaan positif dan negatif, gambaran pelaksanaan caring, pemahaman caring dan faktor demografi yang mempengaruhi.
  • Caring is the nursing profession’s core that is needed in nursing services. The caring implementation in nursing services is a challenge by itself during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine the description of the nurses’ caring behavior, the relationship of individual factors to caring behavior and to do the deep exploration regarding the caring implementation in the COVID-19 Isolation room. This study employed a sequential explanatory mixed methods design where quantitative strand was conducted using a questionnaire to the selected research subjects by using total sampling. Meanwhile, qualitative strand was conducted by in-depth interviews with 6 participants selected from each of 2 nurses added by 2 people in charge of the room that showing the highest and the lowest score of caring behavior. The results of this study found that the level of caring among nurses was known to be good, namely 93 people (80,2%). The chi square test showed that there was a significant relationship between the place of duty to the nurses’ caring behavior (p=0,033, <0,05). However, there was no relationship was found between age (p=0,539), gender (p=0,931), education level (p=0,474), length of work at Sanglah Hospital Denpasar (p=0,430), length of work in the COVID-19 isolation room (p=0,456), and isolation and infection training (p=0,083) on nurses' caring behavior. The results of the interviews regarding the implementation of caring for nurses got several themes that were identified, such as experiences, positive and negative feelings, the descriptions of caring implementation, the caring understanding and influencing demographic factors.
