Out of the 13 regencies / cities in South Kalimantan Province, City Banjarmasin is the most frequent outbreaks. In order to determine the transmission of dengue fever prevention strategies in South Kalimantan, there should be efforts by utilizing a comprehensive and intensive case prevalence data, measures of health care, presence and program implementation, and evaluation of the success of the program, so it can be determined the type and pattern of effective interventions and efficient. Qualitative descriptive and retrospective Characteristically, which qualitatively describes policies and programs that have been done at an earlier time (2010) through depth interview. The avaibility of basic regulations, Standard Operational Prosedure, Dengue control mannual, infrastructure, and budget are sufficient. Control activities are still largely focused on curative. The implementation of preventive programs are still lacking, particularly, in program manager level. The regulation and financing of the dengue disease control is good enough, the surveillance system has been quite active, still qualitatively less human resources, and community participation in dengue control efforts are lacking.
