- Red roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) calyx contains vitamin C and flavonoids that had potential as antioxidants.The aim of this study was to create an instant granules formula preparation of red roselle calyx extract. The stepsin this study consisted of plant determination, phytochemical screening, maceration with 70% ethanol, formulationof instant granules with wet granulation method, instant granules evaluation, testing the instant granulesstability, and the hedonic test. Phytochemical screening showed the red roselle calyx contain saponins, flavonoids,quinones, steroids, and vitamin C. The maceration rendement was 28.57%. The characteristic of instant granuleswas moisture content 1.42-1.83%, flow rate 7.519-9.054 g/s, angle of repose 21.893-28.309o, true density 0.752-0.823 g/ml, tapped density 0.883-0.968 g/ml, and the dissolving speed 0.083-0.101 g/s. The best and the mostfavourable instant granules was formula III.AbstrakKelopak bunga rosella merah (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) mengandung vitamin C dan flavonoid yang berkhasiat sebagaiantioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formula sediaan granul instan dari ekstrak kelopak bunga rosella merah. Tahapan penelitian meliputi determinasi tanaman, penapisan fitokimia, maserasi dengan etanol 70%, formulasi granul instan dengan metode granulasi basah, evaluasi granul instan, uji stabilitas granul instan, dan uji kesukaan. Penapisan fitokimia menunjukkan kelopak bunga rosella merah mengandungsaponin, flavonoid, kuinon, steroid, dan vitamin C. Maserasi menghasilkan rendemen sebesar 28,57%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan granul instan memiliki kadar air 1,42-1,83%, kecepatan alir 7,519-9,054 g/detik, sudut istirahat 21,893-28,309o, kerapatan nyata 0,752-0,823 g/ml, kerapatan mampat 0,883-0,968 g/ml, dan kecepatan melarut 0,083-0,101 g/detik. Formula III merupakan formula granul instan yang paling baik dan paling disukai.
