Household Health Survey 1995 (SKRT,1995), showed that Perinatal Mortality Rate in Indonesia was as high as 48 per 1000 pregnancies. According to this findings, this research was aimed to determine the underlying factors leading to and community perception about the specific cause of perinatal death in Bekasi municipality in the year of 2003. A Qualitative method: Rashomon method, was used in this research. Sample consisted of 43 people, derived from community and health worker as the population. Lack of informant's knowledge of the signs, symptoms and risks of the pregnancy leading to death risks became another important factor, and the failure of birth attendants in terms of adequate health service provision bad been evidenced to be the third factor that affects perinatal death in Bekasi municipality.
