- Purpose of the research is to know the tensile strength of musaceae fiber. The research material uses musaceaefiber and alkali (NaOH) solution. Specimen making of fiber test of musaceaeconsists of fiber of non-treatment and 2,4,6 hours immersion treatment with alkali solution of 5% NaOH. The result of tensile test of musaceae fiber of non-treatment obtained tensile stress of 1766.156MPa. Result of tensile test of musaceae fiber with 5% NaOH treatment with 2,4,6-hours immersion obtained tensile stress is 1801.756 MPa , 782.908% MPa, and 799.497 MPa. Key words: musaceae, NaOH, and tensile strength.
