- In running the government and development, there is a change ;from centralistic system to decentralistic system. This change is coded by the law No. 22 year 1999 about regional government (now it is changed into law no 32 year 2004) and the law no. 25 year 1999 about the balance of budged between central governme nt and the regional government (now it is changed into law no. 33 year 2004) and the laws whichfollow them. Magelang city is one of the , cities in Central Java with the area around ± 18,12 km2it has two subdistricts, they are Magelang Utara sub district and Magelang Selatan subdistrict. Jn running the regional law no, 8 year 2003 and in developing the ability innmning the regional authonomy based on law no 22 year 1999 abour regional government section 6 : I and 2, Magelang city government must try to have at least three subdistricts. Besides the expansion of dubdistricts and village is to stabilize the regional authonomy effectively, to increase accountability and public service.
