- ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the high percentage of unemployed Senior High School graduated students who do not have work readiness yet and the lack of work interest. The purpose of this research is to reveal the percentage of work interest in contributing to work readiness of students grade XII majoring in civil engineering in SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman. The kind of this research is correlational descriptive research. The population is students grade XII majoring in civil engineering in SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman with the number of population is 55 people. By using total sampling technical, the number of the sample is 55 students. This research has two variables: work interest and work readiness. The instrument is questioner using Likert scale to measure each statement.The result of this research shows that the correlation result 0.786 with the significance 0.000 < 0.05 alpha value that means there is a significant relation among work interest and work readiness. The percentage of work interest in contributing to work readiness is 61.7%, so that the rest percentage, 38.3%, is given by other factors that are not researched.
