- This study aims to analyse the factors that has caused the damage and the extinction ofthe cultural heritages in the city ofYogyakarta, among which are the constraints that arise in providing legal protection ofcultural heritage objects and the concept ofstrong legal protection at the local government level. This study mainly oversees the weaknesses in the legal protection ofcultural heritages in Yogyakarta, as it has resulted in lack ofregulations protecting the status and surroundings ofthese heritages. Research results show that the legal protection towards cultural heritages in Yogyakarta remains weak.
