- Tradition developed in a comunity should continue to be preserved from generation to generations. Efforts are being made one of them may be through the process of transmission or inheritance. Transmission can be done in various ways, one through the ritual. Rituals performed continuously and regularly can be agood medium in the transmission process. The ritual process of artistic creativity that was developed by the comunity on the slopes of Mount Merbabu can be an example. Art that goes hand in hand with the ritual can be one of the transmission medium to continue the tradition that already exists. This research seeks to answer how ritual can be a transmission medium of art pecisely at the slope creativity in Merbabu.
