PEMAHAMAN KONSEP LITERASI IPA PADA MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN GURU SEKOLAH DASAR

- Literasi IPA di Indonesia masih rendah di bandingkan negara lain, salah satu faktornya adalahkurangnya pemahaman literasi IPA, salah satunya oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru SekolahDasar sebagai calon guru. Rumusan masalah yaitu bagaimanakah pemahaman konsep literasiIPA pada mahasiswa PGSD Universitas Syiah Kuala. Pendekatan penelitian adalah studydeskriptif. Subjeknya adalah mahasiswa semester ganjil 2017/2018 PGSD FKIP berjumlah 24mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data adalah tes. Tehnik analisis rumus persentase. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa sebahagian mahasiswa PGSD Unsyiah telah memahami konsep literasiIPA. Pada komponen konsep dasar literasi IPA mencapai 61% (tinggi), proses IPA adalah 58%(cukup tinggi), konten IPA 54% (cukup tinggi), dan konteks aplikasi IPA 38% (rendah). Pemahamanmahasiswa masih rendah pada konsep tujuan literasi IPA; cara mengaplikasikan beberapapengetahuan ilmiah dan kemampuan mempertimbangkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Adapunkesimpulannya bahwa pemahaman konsep literasi IPA pada mahasiswa PGSD UniversitasSyiah Kuala mencapai 53% berada pada kategori cukup tinggi. Perlu adanya peningkatanpenerapan pembelajaran berbasis literasi IPA pada perkuliahan pembelajaran IPA yangmenekankan pada aspek proses IPA, konten IPA, konteks aplikasi IPA melalui pengamatanlangsung, merancang teknologi sederhana, menulis laporan-laporan dari kegiatan pembelajaranIPA.IPA literacy in Indonesia is still low compared to other countries, one of the factors is the lack ofunderstanding of science literacy, one of them is by elementary school teacher education as ateacher candidate. The formulation of the problem is how to understand the concept of scienceliteracy in PGSD students of Syiah Kuala University. The research approach is descriptive study.The subject is an odd semester student 2017/2018 PGSD FKIP totaling 24 students. Data collectionis a test. Technique of analysis of percentage formula. The results showed that some students ofPGSD Unsyiah have understood the concept of IPA literacy. In IPA literacy basic concept componentsreach 61% (high), IPA process is 58% (high enough), IPA content 54% (high enough), and 38%(low) IPA application context. Understanding of students is still low on the concept of IPA literacypurposes; how to apply some scientific knowledge and the ability to consider in everyday life. Theconclusion that the understanding of the concept of science literacy in PGSD students SyiahKuala University reached 53% is in the category high enough. There needs to be an increase inthe application of IPA-based lecture learning to science lectures that emphasize aspects of theIPA process, IPA content, the context of IPA applications through direct observation, designingsimple technology, writing reports from science learning activities.
