EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS DAN BELIEF SISWA

  • This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of problem based learning in terms of student’s mathematical communication ability, percentage of students who reach the mastery learning, and belief. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMP Negeri 10 Bandarlampung in even semester, academic year of 2014/2015 that was distributed into 10 classes, then it was selected one class as experiment class by purposive sampling technique. This research used one group pretest posttest. Based on the analysis of data, it was concluded that problem based learning was effective in terms of student’s mathematical communicaton ability and percentage of students who reached the mastery learning but it was not effective in terms of student’s belief.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis, persentase siswa tuntas belajar, dan belief siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Bandarlampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdistribusi dari sepuluh kelas, kemudian dipilih satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen melalui teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest posttest design. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa problem based learning efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan persentase siswa tuntas belajar, namun tidak efektif ditinjau dari belief siswa.Kata kunci: belief, komunikasi matematis, problem based learning
