- This quasi experimental research aimed to know the differences of students’ mathematical conceptual understanding in cooperative learning model of NHT dan STAD. The population of this research was all of 7th grade students of SMPN 10 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/2015. The samples of this research were students of VII-D class as NHT class and VII-E class as STAD class which were chosen by purpossive random sampling technique. Based on this research, it can be concluded that students’ mathematical conceptual understanding in cooperative learning model of NHT was higher than cooperative learning model of STAD.Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan STAD. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 10 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-D sebagai kelas NHT dan kelas VII-E sebagai kelas STAD yang dipilih dengan teknik purpossive random sampling. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT lebih tinggi daripada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD.Kata kunci: NHT, pemahaman konsep, STAD
