- The purpose of this research was to determine the differences between student’s understanding of mathematical concepts using the cooperative learning of numbered heads together and think pair share type. This research population was all students of grade 11th of MIA of SMA Negeri 1 Terusan Nunyai in academic year of 2014/2015 that was distributed into four classes, then it was taken two classes as samples by purposive sampling technique. This research data were obtained by test of mathematical understanding concepts. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded that there’s no difference of student’s mathematical understanding concepts using the cooperative learning of numbered heads together and think pair share type.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together dan think pair share. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Terusan Nunyai tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdiri dari empat kelas, kemudian diambil dua kelas sebagai sampel melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together dan think pair share.Kata kunci: numbered heads together, pemahaman konsep, think pair share
