- This quasi-experimental research aimed to know the influence of using prop from student’s understanding of mathematical concepts in contextual learning. The population of this research was all students of grade VII of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015. The sample of this research were students of VII D and VII F which were taken by purposive sampling. Based on the analysis of data, student’s mathematical concept understanding in contextual learning which use prop was better than mathematical concept understanding in contextual learning and which not use prop. Thus, the using of prop gives positive influence to student’s understanding of mathematical concepts in contextual learning.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan alat peraga terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada pembelajaran kontekstual. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII D dan VII F yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran kontekstual yang menggunakan alat peraga lebih baik daripada pembelajaran kontekstual tanpa penggunaan alat peraga. Dengan demikian, penggunaan alat peraga berpengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada pembelajaran kontekstual.Kata kunci: alat peraga, kontekstual, pemahaman konsep matematis
