- This research aimed to know the increasing of studentâ€TMs critical thinking skill and mathematical disposition which was taught by problem based learning compared to the conventional learning. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 24 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into ten classes. This research samples were students of VIIIC and VIIID class who were taken by purposive sampling technique. The design of this research was pretest posttest control group design. The research data were obtained by test of critical thinking skill and mathematical disposition scale. The conclusion of this research was the problem based learning could increase the studentâ€TMs critical thinking skill, but it couldnâ€TMt increase the studentâ€TMs mathematical disposition.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan disposisi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran berbasis masalah dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 24 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 yang terdistribusi dalam sepuluh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIC dan VIIID yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan skala disposisi matematis. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, namun tidak dapat meningkatkan disposisi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: disposisi matematis, kemampuan berpikir kritis, pembelajaran berbasis masalah
