PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TPS TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA

  • This quasi experimental research aimed to know the influence of cooperative learning model of TPS type towards the increasing of the studentâ€TMs mathematical representation skill. The design of this research was  pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was grade 8th students of SMPN 1 Pringsewu in academic year of 2013 / 2014. The samples of this research were students of VIII.4 and VIII.6 class, who were taken by purposive random sampling techniques. Based on the data analysis,it was found that studentâ€TMs mathematical representation skill who followed by cooperative learning model of TPS type was higher than direct learning. Thus,it could be concluded that cooperative learning model of TPS type affect towards the increasing of the studentâ€TMs mathematical representation skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Pringsewu tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.4 dan VIII.6 yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh bahwa peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran TPS lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran langsung. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: pembelajaran langsung, representasi matematis, TPS
