- This quasi-experimental research aimed to determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of TPS type compared to conventional learning. The research population was all students of grade XI IPA of SMA Tri Sukses Natar Lampung Selatan in the academic year of 2013/2014. The research samples were students of XI IPA1 and XI IPA2 class who were taken by purposive sampling. The research design was post-test only. The research data were obtained by test. The result of hypothesis test showed that learning outcomes of students who learn with TPS model was higher than the learning outcomes of students who learn with conventional learning. Thus, learning with TPS model was effective in increasing studentsâ€TM mathematics learning outcomes.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Tri Sukses Natar Lampung Selatan tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2 yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Desain penelitian adalah post-test only. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan tes. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model TPS lebih tinggi dari pada hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Jadi, pembelajaran dengan model TPS efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa.Kata kunci: hasil belajar, konvensional, pembelajaran tipe TPS
