  • This quasi experimental research aims to investigate the difference of gain students mathematical conceptual understanding between students in contextual learning with VAK and expository learning.  The design of this research is pre-test post-test control group design. The population of this research are all students of 8th grade of Junior High State School 1 Sekampung Udik academic years 2012/2013 with homogenous student abilities. The sample of this research are 8th A class and 8th C class which choosed randomly from five classes.  Based on hypothesis analysis, it is conclude that there are no difference gain of studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding between a class in contextual learning with VAK and expository learning.  Keywords: VAK, Mathematical Conceptual Understanding
