- This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning of jigsaw type considered by studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding. The research used pre-test post-test control design. The population was all students of grade 7th SMPN 1 Pekalongan, Lampung Timur in academic year 2012/2013 and the samples of research were students of VII.2 and VII.3 class that chosen from six classes by purposive sampling technique. Based on the result of data analysis, it was gotten the average of studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding of cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type was higher then conventional learning. The conclusion of this research was the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type was effective considered by studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelÂajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pre-test post-test control design, dengan popuÂlasi yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VII semester genap SMP Negeri 1 Pekalongan Kabupaten Lampung Timur tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 dan sebagai sampel penelitian adalah kelas VII.2 dan VII.3 yang dipilih dari enam kelas dengan cara purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh bahwa nilai rata-rata peÂmahamÂan konsep matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih tinggi dari pada pembelajarÂan konvensional. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw efektif diterapkan terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kata kunci: efektivitas, jigsaw, pemahaman konsep matematisÂ
