- This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the influence of the implementation of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type towards the studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics. The population of this research was the eightth grade students of Junior High School State 2 Pringsewu in the academic year 2012/2013 that distributed into nine classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII H class as the experimental class and students of VIII G class as the control class. The samples were chosen by purposive sampling technique. Research used a post-test control only design.  Based on the research result implementation of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type effects the conceptual understanding of mathematics.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 2 Pringsewu tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 yang terdistribusi dalam sembilan kelas. Sampel dalam peneliÂtiÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂan ini adalah siswa kelas VIII H sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII G seÂÂÂÂÂÂbagai kelas kontrol. Sampel dipilih melalui tekÂnik purÂpoÂÂÂÂsive samplingÂ. Desain penelitian adalah post-test control only  design. BerÂdasarÂÂkan hasil penelitian penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share berpengaruh terÂhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep matematis, pengaruh, Think Pair Share
