- This quasi experimental research aimed to know the influence of cooperative learning model of group investigation type towards studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics. The research design was post-test only control design. The population was students of grade 8th in second semester of SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Ratu in the academic year 2012/2013 that excluding in the special class. Samples were students of VIII.3 class as experiment class and VIII.2 class as control class that was determined by purposive sampling technique. The data of studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics was taken by test. Data analysis used Mann-Withney test. Based on data analysis, studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics by cooperative learning model of group investigation type was higher than conventional those of learning. So, it was concluded that cooperative learning model of group investigation type influences studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain penelitian adalah post-test only control design. PopuÂlaÂsi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII semester genap SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Ratu tahun pelajaÂran 2012/2013 yang tidak termasuk dalam kelas unggulan. Sampel peneÂlitian adalah siswa kelas VIII.3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII.2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data pemahaman konsep matematis diperoleh melalui tes. Analisis data mengguÂnaÂÂkan uji Mann-Whitney. Berdasarkan hasil analiÂsiÂs data, diperÂoleh bahwa pemahaman konsep maÂtÂematis siswa pada pembelajaran koopeÂraÂtif tipe group investigation lebih tinggi daripada pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada pembelajaran konvensional.  Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa mÂÂoÂdel pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation berpengaruh terhaÂdap pemaÂhaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: model kooperatif tipe group investigation, pemahaman konsep mateÂmaÂtis, pengaruh
