  • This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effect of Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model toward students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. The population of this research was students of grade VIII of Junior High School of 22 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2016/2017 that were distributed into eleven classes, start from VIII A until VIII K. The sampling was doneby purposive sampling technique and it was chosen students of VIII A and VIII D as samples. This research used posttest only control group design. Research data were obtained through test of ma­thematical concept comprehension. The data analysis which was used was t-test. Based on the result of research, it was concluded that Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model have an effect on students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap SMP Negeri 22 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2016-2017 yang terdistribusi dalam 11 (sebelas) kelas, yaitu kelas VIII A sampai VIII K. Pengam­bilan sam­­pel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan terpilih siswa pada kelas VIII A dan VIII D sebagai sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan posttest only control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen tes pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.
