- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran discovery learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi Pola Bilangan. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 yang terdistribusi dalam 7 kelas. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII-C dan VIII-D yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest posttest control group design. Uji statistik yang digunakan yaitu uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, disimpulkan bahwa discovery learning tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. This experimental aimed to know the effectiveness of discovery learning model in terms of the ability of understanding the mathematical concepts of students in the number pattern material . The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandarlampung in academic year 2018/2019 distributed into 7 class. The sample of this research was a Class VIII-C and VIII-D are chosen by purposive sampling technique. This research used pretest posttest control group design. Statistical tests are used namely t-test. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it was concluded that discovery learning is not effective in terms of the ability to understand students’ mathematical concepts.Kata Kunci: discovery learning, efektivitas, pemahaman konsep matematis
