- This is a quasi experimental research which aimed to know the influence of cooperative learning model of Numbered Head Together (NHT) type toward studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics. Posttest only control design was used in this research. The population was all students of grade 8th SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung, even semester, school year 2012/2013. Sample of this research was students of VIII I as experiment class and VIII K as control class that was determined by purposive sampling technique. Based on data analysis, studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics and characteristic behavior achievement and social skill on cooperative learning model of NHT type is better than conventional learning, so it is concluded that cooperative learning model of NHT type affects studentâ€TMs conceptual understanding of mathematics.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 sebanyak 362 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII I sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII K sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dan pencapaian perilaku berkarakter dan keterampilan sosial siswa pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran konvensional, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: NHT, pemahaman konsep matematis, pengaruh
