Efektivitas Model Discovery Learning Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Berpikir Reflektif dan Self Confidence

  • This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of discovery learning modelin terms of students reflective thinking and self confidence. The population of this research was all seventh gradestudents of SMP Negeri 19 Bandarlampung in Academic Year 2017/2018 that were distributed into 10 classes. The samples of this research were students of VII-D and VII-G classes which were chosen by purposive sampling. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The data analysis which was used test and proporsi test. Based on the results of t test analysis and proportion test, the average increase in the ability of relational thinking and self confidence students who follow discovery learning is higher than students who follow conventional learning. Based on the result of this research and criticism, it was concluded that the implementation of discovery learning model was effective in terms of students reflective thinking, but wasn’t effective in terms of students self confidence. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model discovery learning ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir reflektif dan self confidence siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 19 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam 10 kelas. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII-D dan VII-G yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji dan uji proporsi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji dan uji proporsi, rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan berpikir relektif dan self confidence siswa yang mengikuti discovery learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model discovery learning efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir reflektif siswa tetapi tidak efektif ditinjau dari self confidence siswa.
