- This quasi experimental research aimed to determine the influence of problem based learning towards student's mathematical reflective thinking ability and self confidence. The research population were all students grades VIII of SMP Negeri 22 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2017/2018 that were distributed into eleven classes. The research sample were grades VIII F and VIII H that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The research design was the pretest-postest control group design. The data analysis used is t-test and t’-test. The research result shows that gain of student’s mathematical reflective thinking ability in problem based learning class is higher than in conventional learning class, and self confidence isn’t higher than. Based on results and discussion, it can be concluded that problem based learning model has influence towards student's mathematical reflective thinking ability, but hasn't influence towards student's self confidence.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis dan self confidence siswa. Populasi penelitian seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas. Sampel penelitian dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII F dan VIII H yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah the pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji dan . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa yang mengikuti problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional, sedangkan yang self confidence tidak lebih tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan diperoleh simpulan bahwa problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan self confidence siswa.
