- This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of discovery learning models toward to student’s understanding of mathematical concept. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMPN 22 Pesawaran in academic year of 2017/2018 that were distributed into 7 classes. The sampling was done by purposive sampling technique and it was chosen students of VIII-E and VIII-F as samples. The design which was used was the pretest-posttest control group design. The data of student’s understanding of mathematical concept obtain using test technique. The analysis of mean comparison shows that the increasing of student’s understanding of mathematical concept ability using discovery learning models is higher than conventional models. It indicated that discovery learning models influence on student’s understanding of mathematical concept.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII Semester Genap SMP Negeri 22 Pesawaran tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam tujuh kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan terpilih siswa pada kelas VIII-E dan VIII-F sebagai sampel. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Data kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa diperoleh menggunakan tehnik tes. Analisis uji perbandingan rata-rata menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan model discovery learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas konvensional. Dengan demikian, model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadapan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kata kunci: discovery learning, pemahaman konsep matematis
