Efektivitas Guided Discovery Learning Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Representasi Matematis dan Self Confidence

  • This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of guided discovery learning model in terms of student’s mathematical representation skills and self confidence. The population of this research were students of grade VIII in SMP Negeri 25 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2016/2017 that were distributed into 9 classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII D and VIII E class which were chosen by purposive and random sampling technique. The design was pretest-posttest control group design. Analysis data of the research using non parametric test that is Mann-Whitney U test. Research data were obtained through mathematical representation skills and self confidence scale. Based on the research, it was concluded that guided discovery learning model was not effective in terms of students' mathematical representation skills and self confidence.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model guided discovery learning ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis dan self confidence siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 25 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 yang terdistribusi dalam 9 kelas. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa pada kelas VIII D dan VIII E yang diambil dengan teknik purposive dan teknik random sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji non parametrik yaitu uji Mann-Whitney U. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan skala self confidence. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa model guided discovery learning tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis dan self confidence siswa.
