- This research aimed to find out the improvement of student’s mathematical communication ability through REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring) learning strategy. The population of this research was all students of grade 7th of SMP Negeri 9 Metro in academic year of 2016/2017 which was distributed into 7 classes. The samples of this research were students of VII-1 and VII-2 class which were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The design of this research was pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained by mathematical communication ability test. Analysis data of this research used t-test. Based on the result of research, it can be concluded that REACT learning strategy can increase the student’s mathematical communication ability. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui pembelajaran dengan strategi REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring). Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Metro tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 yang terdistribusi dalam 7 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-1 dan VII-2 yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Desain dalam penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran dengan strategi REACT dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.
