- This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of CIRC learning in terms of student’s mathematical communication skill. The design which was used was posttest only control design. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of Junior High School 8 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2016/2017. The samples of this research were students of VIIIG and VIIIH class that were determined by purposive random sampling technique. The data of student’s mathematical comunication skill were obtained by essay test. Based on the result and discussion, it was concluded that the implementation of CIRC learning was not effective in terms of student’s mathematical communication skill but increasing of communication skill in CIRC learning was higher than conventional learning.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran CIRC ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIG dan VIIIH yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa diperoleh melalui tes uraian. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan CIRC tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa tetapi peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi pada CIRC lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, komunikasi matematis, pembelajaran CIRC
