- This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of MMP type in terms of student’s mathematical representations skill. The population of this research was all students of grade 7th of Junior High School 3 Natar in academic year of 2015/2016 which were distributed into five classes, then it was taken two classes as the sampel by purposive random sampling. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the cooperative learning model of MMP type wasn’t effective in terms of student’s mathematical representations skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe MMP ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Natar tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas, kemudian diambil dua kelas sebagai sampel melalui teknik purposive random sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe MMP tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: kemampuan representasi matematis, MMP, pembelajaran kooperatif
