Daftar Isi:
- This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of problem based learning in terms of student’s mathematical communication ability, percentage of students who reached the mastery learning, and self confidence. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMP Negeri 1 Bandarlampung in odd semester, academic year of 2015/2016 that was distributed into 9 classes, then it was selected one class as experiment class by purposive sampling technique. This research used one group pretest posttest design. Based on the analysis of data, it was concluded that problem based learning was effective in terms of student’s mathematical communicaton ability and percentage of students who reached the mastery learning but it was not effective in terms of student’s self confidence. Kata kunci: komunikasi matematis, problem based learning, self confidence
