Metode Maternal Reflektif Dengan Permainan Scrabble Terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Anak Tunarungu

  • Abstract: Children’s langguage skill development is affected by the environment. Mother as the closest person to the children has an important role in teaching langguage. The active communication is needed in the langguage skill. This happens to the deaf children. Deaf children’s langguage development needs special treatment by using the useful receptor, especially in verbal receptor. It is used to develop langguage skills. Those are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. If the deaf children’s verbal symbolic skill can be improved, their absrtact skill also can be improved. Deaf children’s reading skill must be developed as the media to get the information visually. It is started by teaching them how to read in the lowest class. Therefore, this research aims to find out the effect of maternal reflective method trough scrabble for the deaf children’s reading skill for beginners at first grade of Karya Mulia I school Surabaya.This research is a pre experiment quantitive reseach by using one group pre test post test. The data collecting method is test. It is using to get the data of daf children’s reading skill before and after given the action. The next data collecting method is documentation which is used to find out the children’s identity. The action is gven in 10 meeting. Each meeting consists of 2x35 seconds. The learning materials given in this research is the name of 10 animals. There are horse, chicken, owduck, tiger, bird, cat, dog, snake, cow, and giraffe. The deaf children are asked to state the names of the animals, the colors of the animals, and the number of legs. The result of the data analysis by using sign test shows that Zh= 2.05 and Z table = 1.96. Zh>Z table. Teherefore, it can prove that there is a significant effect of Maternal reflective Method though Scrabble for the deaf children’s reading skill for beginners at karya Mulia I Surabaya.Keywords : Reading skill for beginners, maternal reflektive method, Scrabble
